Affirmations help to develop a powerful positive mindset.
If we make positive statements and repeat them over and over, they are going to affect our life positively. Similarly, negative statements will affect our life negatively. The principle behind the working is similar to that of drops of water falling on a rock. A few drops will not make any difference to the rock but if the drops fall continuously, then, over a period of time, the rock will be worn out.
You will find all the affirmations you need on freeaffirmations.org and a great iPhone app called "Affirmations Work!".
It is important that your affirmations are formulated
- In the present tense
Even if it is not true yet. Otherwise your affirmation will always be true in the future and never in the present moment.
" I am successful " rather than " I will be succesful ".
Write your affirmations in such a way that they focus on what you want, rather than what you are trying to avoid or eliminate from your life.
" I am free from cigarettes " rather than " I am not addicted to cigarettes "
Make your own list of affirmations and repeat them daily. Through continuous mental repetition, it will go into your subconscious mind where it begins to repeat itself through no effort on your part.
The key when saying, and/or reading, affirmations is to feel the feelings they portray.
And make sure it is a fun thing to do !
