Rebirthing (also known as Conscious Breathing) is a powerful and simple tool that can permanently transform the quality of your health, energy and aliveness. It utilizes a simple breathing technique called Conscious Connected Breathing, where the inhale and exhale are merged, with no hesitation or holding in between.
Conscious Connected Breathing is our natural breathing pattern. Babies, most small children, and animals all breathe this way. This is our natural breathing rhythm, before it became inhibited by stress, traumas, suppressed emotions, or the everyday hard knocks of just growing up.
And each negative thought stored in our body automatically resists the aliveness of Infinite Being. As we grow and we experience life, we develop inhibited breathing patterns.
Freeing The Breath
Various traumas, ideas, and experiences influence us to begin to control or unconsciously inhibit our natural breathing rhythm. This causes tension, blocked energy, suppressed emotions, and pain to accumulate in our bodies on a cellular level.
Practicing Rebirthing restores us to our natural state of being – serenity and bliss. Healing the breath heals the entire body-mind-spirit from the inside out.
Breathe Yourself Free
Conscious rhythmical breathing dissolves and pumps out the negative mental mass and tensions out of your body and enables you to incorporate the life energy into your body instead. People release and heal a big part of what they were holding on to and what was disabling the Energy from flowing freely in their bodies (physical body, mental- emotional body and energetic body). They also release the main layers of tension and stress due to past emotional traumas, infancy and birth memories.
In the first sessions it is very common to have strong physical sensations; we also call it physiological drama. The two most common are tetany (tension and cramping that focuses on the hands, arms, feet, legs and mouth) and anaesthesia (feeling sleepy during a session). Tetany is the technical term for sensations of muscle cramping or numbness in the body. It is said to be a manifestation of suppressed emotions such a fear of life, anger, or suppressed rage. It is also said to be related to heavy birth trauma.
It is important to know here, that connected breathing does not cause the tetany or physical sensations experienced. It is the blocked energy, pain, stiffness, and tension already lying dormant in the body, which is coming out during the session. These remain suppressed by inhibited breathing patterns, which finally manifest as diseases, symptoms of deterioration, and aging.
Some people have rebirthing sessions and don't experience it at all. Most people get past the experience of their muscles cramping, tightening, and other physical sensations within their first ten sessions. Some people experience it much later on. This varies from person to person, depending on what healing they need at any given time. One is not better than the other; there is no right or wrong way to experience Rebirthing.
Does it always work?
Sometimes if a person can’t breathe deeply enough in the allotted time or they are too uncertain to fully relax into the process or they fall asleep they don’t activate the body memory. However, benefit still occurs even if there is no activation as there is a release of tension and a movement towards the time when activation can occur, maybe a few sessions later. By analysing why activation did not occur reveals the patterns of belief that are stopping one from achieving. The Rebirth is always a metaphor for some aspect of life.
Preparing for your First Session
Sessions last between 1½ hrs to 2 hrs. It begins with a brief consultation and the remaining time is used for breathing and integration. It is recommended to dress comfortably. Please wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing that will not feel restricting or inhibit your breathing. Rebirthing has been found to be an excellent cure for asthma, but if you have asthma it is recommended that you bring your inhaler with you, if that will enable you to feel more comfortable and secure.
Our body is very wise. It is our temple. It’s way to communicate to us that there is something wrong in the way we think, feel, act or with our lifestyle, is by manifesting symptoms. In order to have and maintain health we have to be open, listen to the messages and be ready to make the changes necessary. Symptoms are a healing crisis.
